Friends of Homeless Animals in Hawthorne, NJ (where I found my special-needs cat, Gretel), has been fostering best friends Teddy, a 15-month-old black male, and Duffy, an 18-month-old male tabby, for many months now.
They are handsome and affectionate, bonded to each other and great with other cats, but are passed over time and time again for younger and more stand-out cats.
What suggestions do you have to make Teddy, Duffy and other hard-to-place cats more eye-catching to potential adopters?

I've heard that if you re-name black cats "Jellybean" they get adopted... Don't know if it would work, especially for a male...
Two cats who are already "friends" make perfect pets for very busy owners or first time owners. They tend to entertain each other (and their owners as well, when watching them cavort with one another). This helps avoid some separation anxiety for the pet (great if you work long hours at times or travel overnight) and new owners won't feel quite as guilty about not being able to spend all their time with their pet.
If you adopt two cats who are already used to being around each other, you won't have to worry as much about terriorial problems (marking). Your cats will be "well rounded" because they can have a relationship with YOU as well as a favorite feline friend!
You can promote them using our "Share on Facebook" link on their Pet Notes pages!
