Are you willing to tell that story on TV?
Send us your story and photo, and you and your pet may have the chance to promote pet adoption on a major national broadcast. (Sorry I can't give you more details ... yet!)
This opportunity will be a great way to tell the world why pet adoption is THE way to go, and help homeless pets everywhere as a result. Send me your info at "blog (at) Petfinder.com". Looking forward to hearing your stories!

Hi Liz. Your instincts are right: it's a scam. Here is some info that might be useful:
Most scams involve one or more of the following:
* Inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
* Money transfer services (aka money wire), cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
* Inability or refusal to meet face-to-face to meet the pet or potential adopter
* Greater interest in the financial transaction than adoption
Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?
* FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)
* FTC online complaint form (www.ftc.gov)
* Canadian PhoneBusters hotline: 888-495-8501
* Internet Fraud Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov/)

I have listed a pet for adoption on your website and I am getting many requests for adoption from foreigners, apparently in this country, who say they want the pet and have a transportation company ready to pick up and deliver it. They all have broken English and sound very suspicious to me. Most are in other states than mine, some very far. Why would they be willing to spend so much, if this is legitimate, when I am sure there are adoptable pets right near them?
