Tonight! Watch 'Puppy Mills: Exposed' on Animal Planet

puppy mills.jpgBe sure to tune in to Animal Planet at 10 p.m. EST tonight for a special episode of Animal Cops: Philadelphia, called Puppy Mills: Exposed.

The episode details a raid conducted last year by the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Limestone Kennels in Chester County, Pa., where almost 90 dogs were discovered living in deplorable conditions.

The show should go a long way toward raising awareness of exactly where that doggie in the pet store window came from -- and of the incredible work done by Humane Law Enforcement officers and shelter personnel who work so hard to protect these animal victims.

I hate puppy mills. They are just not right. I mean would you like to be kept in a small cage with other dogs around you? There's no room to play and everything is so dirty. I feel so bad for dogs in puppy mills. I watch animal cops and I only see part of what puppy mills really look like. The dogs are unhealthy and dirty. Some of them are clean but still I don't agree with it. I wish people would come forward if they know that there is a puppy mill going on. We are the voices for animals and they need our help! So please stand against puppy mills and stand up for the animals!

I watched the program puppy mills exposed. I thought it was great in the sense that we are starting to do something about this as a whole. This is just the tip of the iceberg I'm afraid. It takes a community to put a stop to their local puppy mills. People are so afraid to come forward when they know of these places. The repercussions in small towns is especially bad. No one wants to step on toes, law enforcement have more important issues and if you continue to make noise about any abuse your popularity with law enforcement can turn for the worst. Education is the answer knowledge is the key. Thanks for a great eye opener.

This program was very interesting. What I found disturbing was the fact that ANIMAL PLANET aired a commercial (at least twice) for a PET store.

Pet Store's are supposedly the very reason why there are so many Puppy Mills and basically go against the grain of what Animal Planet in my mind's eye, is supposed to stand for.

I have seen this commercial on Animal Planet before, and I am always shocked and a little disconcerted every time I see it on this channel.

I thought (my opinion/persception) this channel was supposed to represent the best of the things we do with and for animals.

But then, to see commercials promoting purchasing Puppies from a pet store,,,, well that goes against everything I thought the network was about. And, by the way, I have a pet (dog) from this store, which was deemed unfit for sale........(but I could not just surrender after the fact).....and no I did not purchase the pet.

Thank you
